The Rise of Jung in Me

The Rise of Jung in Me. An Extraordinary Journey to Science, Story and Spirit to Heal the Wounded Adolescent Within *STORY IMAGE THERAPY* by Toula Gordillo

An effective Method to Enhance Youth Resilience for ALL AGES

Today’s youth are in crisis! Mental health issues are soaring and young people’s carers are struggling to know how to help, or heal, their own adolescent pain. Inspired by the life and work of pioneering transpersonal psychologist, Dr Carl Jung, for more than a decade, Dr Toula Gordillo has developed a new resilience-enhancing method: Story Image Therapy (SIT®) and SIT education.
Covering contemporary themes of shadow work, the wounded inner child/adolescent, youth voice and lived experience, The Rise of Jung in Me is a true hero’s journey story. Inside its pages, Dr Toula demonstrates how she applied Jung’s life and knowledge to heal her own adolescent issues (called a negative adolescent complex in Jungian psychology). She also offers the case studies of six young people whose lives were transformed through SIT’s practical application.
Dr Toula Gordillo is a practicing clinical and Jungian psychologist, as well as a former teacher, guidance counsellor and Head of Student Services in some of Queensland’s largest schools. She’s the author of a Young Adult Jungian fantasy novel and audiobook, Shadows of Sylvaheim. Dr Toula has written numerous articles and book chapters. She has spoken on national radio, and presented ancient stories and images for modern mental health around Australia, New Zealand and India.
