Matt has worked as a door-to-door soft drink salesman, railway worker in Footscray and media adviser to a federal politician.
He is an AFL fan (especially when it comes to his beloved Western Bulldogs), father of four, avid reader and music lover.
The 2019 new release, Red Time, is his first novel. A work of Australian crime fiction, it follows the story of nomadic country footballer, Mick Stewart, as he searches for redemption on the country’s back roads.
With life, love and an overdue premiership all on the line, now is the time when Mick must choose a path. The question is, will it be one to lasting glory or just another dead end?

Caroline Mullarkey was born in Canada in 1972. Her parents are from Belfast, Northern Ireland and her brother, David, was born in England. After spending time in Wales and London, Caroline and her family moved to Australia in 1976. It has been their home ever since.
Caroline Mullarkey’s literary passion began at an early age. Writing her first song when she was eight and a novella when she was only twelve-years-old. By the age of eighteen, she was the lead vocalist in a band.
During her music career, she entertained at venues across Victoria. Holding residencies at Melbourne city nightclubs. She also performed on the Abel Tasman ferry in her duo—Sugarbeat. A few years later, she played solo guitar and sang her original compositions on several local radio stations in Gippsland.
In her mid-twenties she obtained qualifications in professional writing and editing and became a columnist for the Gippsland Times newspaper. Then, in 2001 she enrolled at Monash University to study business law, the Arts, Indigenous culture, behavioural psychology and teaching.
Since completing her teaching degree, she has taught in primary and secondary schools, including the Monash University Precinct.
Now, Caroline is fulfilling her life-long dream as an author and is making that dream possible for other writers through her publishing company, Feather Knight Books.
